I'm writing a short story for a story competition and I'm stumped as how to continue it. Any advice as to how I should continue? At the moment, there's a girl and she's speaking of her one true love and how he was taken from her. He died and she speaks of a funeral. She also mentions some of her memories and what happened the night he died. The last three words he said to her were 'I love you.' I'm not sure how to continue from there though. Should I do a flashback of what their life together was, or something else? Anything helps.
